Artificial Insemination Under the sponsored BPA/RBST initiative supported by the Deerpark AI Centre, semen from pedigree Gloucestershire Old Spots boars is currently available to order by telephone.
Pig Semen is available by mail order from Deerpark AI Station in Northern Ireland, starting from £30-£45 per sow delivery (three inseminations including catheters) to be sent next day delivery. Call 028 7938 6287

To order, simply phone 02879 386287 once your sow or gilt is showing early signs of coming on heat and the package will be posted for next day delivery that day. Be aware that the Post Office will not guarantee next day delivery on a Saturday. Experience has shown that around 70% of packages sent out on a Friday arrive next morning so it may be better to wean your sow on the Thursday/Friday to avoid having to inseminate on a Saturday/Sunday.
For a small herd, keeping your own boar can be expensive and involve a lot of extra work. AI can be a useful alternative.
The semen will be sent without delay and you will be invoiced at the end of the month. Please check for current payment methods.
