Nearly 10,000 people visited this year’s Cranleigh Show as families enjoyed Father’s Day out on Sunday 21st June with a wide variety of things to do and see. The sun shone brightly for those who came to the annual show, with organisers claiming it was ‘without a doubt’, the most well attended year yet. Crowds were wowed at stunt motorcycle riders and eagle demonstrations, and could watch the judging of prize winning sheep, cattle, donkeys and even pygmy goats. Huge farm equipment and machinery was also on show, astounding some of the more younger guests. The double harness scurry driving, known as the ‘formula one’ of equine events, proved to be one of the most popular events of the day. Anna Giller, show secretary, said: “Today has been fantastic. It’s wonderful to see so thousands of people coming out to support us. It was a gamble to change the date to father’s day, but we are delighted to see so many people come today to the show. There’s been some amazing, and record breaking, live stock entries, and entertaining main arena attractions. It seems to have gone down really well, everyone seems really happy and enjoying the sunshine, it’s been wonderful.”
