The Annual GOS Show & Sale at Cirencester Market maintained its reputation for good prices for quality pigs despite the poor state of the market. The top price was 400gns for an in-pig Princess gilt from Judith Sims’ Winterwood herd but this wasn’t a mere blip with 5 in-pig gilts all averaging 336 guineas.
The card grading helped buyers find the pigs they wanted with several red cards awarded for the first time in a number of years, showing the improving quality of pigs forward.
