It’s been a bumper Great Yorkshire Show wall-to-wall sunshine and record entries in many livestock classes have drawn massive crowds to this week’s event at the 250-acre Harrogate showground. It is the biggest agricultural show in the country.

A record entry of 447 pigs of all breeds except Mangalitzas were on show.

GOS exhibitors travelled countrywide with the Dallaway family from Kent, Teresa Cook & Andrew Brenchley from Suffolk, Mike Smith from Somerset, Marlene Renshaw from Lincolnshire and the Whitley family from North Yorkshire

Judging GOS was Mr P Le Bas from Diss, Norfolk

Champion Male GOS was Alfie Dalaways Kilcot Sambo 22 bred by Messrs Barnfield & Sprigg. Reserve was Birchfield Rufus 652 owned & bred by Messrs Whitley

GOS Breed Champion was Mike Smiths Cosscoombe Primrose 6 with Alfie Dallways young boar Kilcot Sambo 22 a worthy reserve.

In the interbreed pairs the Whitleys came third with their pair of GOS.
